By: Daniel Iván Jiménez, Hanli Zhang , Mizuki Tanahara

Grocery shopping is more than just the task of finding the best prices and convenient locations. It's an experience that involves different senses. People don't simply purchase products; they seek out experiences.

In this study, we aim to investigate the role of sound in shaping customers’ perceptions and experiences of grocery shopping in six distinct markets located in South London.

OUTCOME

This project was designed as an interactive projection mapping installation, where the user could experience the sounds from the different markets in South London.

As shown in the video, by touching the circle, the projection changes, and the sound of that market, and a sound from that market is displayed.

VISUAL LANGUAGE

With this project, we showed the 5 main sources of sounds identified in the markets. The biggest the circle, the loudest this type of sound was.
